Abstract

The invention discloses a method for running large-scale software being loaded. In the past, when large-scale software (such as game software) is allocated through internet, a user needs to spend a long time in downloading. The method realizes the running of the large-scale software being loaded, adopts two main components, namely a virtual file server and a file server and is characterized in that: a virtual file architecture is built for the software to be downloaded at a user terminal in advance, wherein the organization manner of files is the same as that after the software is installed except for the content is null, and management is performed by using pages of the same size as units; and when the software in the virtual file architecture is run, the virtual file server intercepts the file page reading request of the software, judges if the requested file page is already downloaded, and allows a file system to read local contents if the requested file page is already downloaded, or sends a corresponding reading content request is sent to the file server on internet if the requested file page is not downloaded and fills the virtual file architecture with received real contents.
