The call handover method comprises the following steps of: sending a terminal-increasing request message to the media gateway, wherein the terminal-increasing request message carries TDM (Time Division Multiple) type terminal information, coded information corresponding to a TDM type, IP (Internet Protocol) type terminal information, and coded information corresponding to an IP type; receiving a terminal-increasing response message which indicates that the media gateway successfully establishes a TDM terminal and an IP terminal, and sending a handover request message to a target base station controller, wherein the handover request message carries a circuit identification code cell and the IP type terminal information; and receiving a handover request acknowledge message returned from the target base station controller, wherein the handover request acknowledge message carries the TDM type terminal information or the IP type terminal information.
