Abstract

The invention discloses an H.264 code rate control method based on a comprehensive factor and belongs to the technical field of video coding. The H.264 code rate control method gives consideration to influences of a position of a P frame in group of pictures (GOP) on present frame code rate control, defines the comprehensive factor, uses the comprehensive factor to optimize distribution of frame layer target bits, then uses the ratio of actual coding bit quantity of a previous frame and the target bits of a present coding frame to serve as an adjustment factor of a quantization parameter, and dynamically adjusting the quantization parameter and conducting ratio distortion optimization. The comprehensive factor is defined to be average difference value ratio of an image grey level histogram of the present coding frame, mean absolute error ratio of an image brightness component and a weighted sum of the P frame in the GOP position. The method improves accuracy of code rate control and video quality.
