Abstract

The invention provides a link aggregation method which is applied to a home terminal device. The home terminal device is connected to an opposite terminal device through multiple chains. The method includes the following steps that current aggregation ports of the home terminal device are grouped according to the port rate and the aggregation rates of all the port combinations after grouping are calculated; the port rate in the same port combination is the same; in all the port combinations, aggregation ports in the port combinations apart from the port combination with the largest aggregation rate are marked to be unable to perform aggregation and the opposite terminal device is informed; a reference port is selected from the port combination with the largest aggregation rate, according to the reference port, other ports in the current aggregation ports are chosen, and link aggregation is carried out between the other ports and the opposite terminal device to form an aggregation group. By means of the link aggregation method, the aggregation rate can reach the maximum and consistence of the chosen ports at the two ends of a device which carries out link aggregation is ensured.
