The invention discloses an insulation performance detecting system for a metal sheath of a power cable. The insulation performance detecting system comprises a collection device, a signal sending device, a signal receiving device, a terminal device, a display device and an alarm device. The collection device is used for collection operating parameters of the power cable and environmental parameters. The operating parameters include the circulation parameter, the connector temperature parameter, the tension parameter and the vibration parameter. The signal sending device is used for sending the operating parameters and the environmental parameters to the signal receiving device. The signal receiving device is used for sending the operating parameters and the environmental parameters to the terminal device. The terminal device is used for judging the insulation performance of the metal sheath of the power cable and generating an alarm driving signal when the power cable has an insulation error, and is also used for driving the display device to display all the parameters and the insulation performance of the metal sheath of the power cable. The alarm driving signal is used for driving the alarm device to give a fault alarm.
