The method comprises the following steps of: S1: the hard disk entering an instruction mode, a T-level mode and a 1-level mode, reducing an SMART table, if a reduction error occurs, executing the step S2, or if the reduction is successful, executing the step S3; S2: reducing a Congen parameter of the hard disk; S3: clearing a G table; and S4: restoring hard disk capacity. The method has the beneficial effects as follows: the hard disk capacity attempts to be restored in four different modes, and the success rate of restoration is high due to the application of stepped restoration means; and the problems that LBA is equal to 0 and LBA is equal to 1 can be dealt with and the capacity abnormity problem not caused by the fact that the capacity is shorn can be solved.
