Methods and compositions relating to glyphosate resistant maize plants, including the GA21, GG25, GJ11 and FI117 transformation events, are disclosed. This invention is directed to the production of plants, plant tissues and seeds which are resistant to inhibition by an herbicide which normally inhibits the growth and development of those plants, plant tissues and plant seeds. In particular this invention is directed to altered acetohydroxyacid synthase enzymes which are resistant to inhibition by herbicides which normally inhibit the activity of the synthase before such alteration. By this invention, modification of the fatty acid composition of a plant seed may be achieved as a result of the activity of a DNA sequence foreign to the plant species to be modified. In particular, it has been found that a plant oil having a modified fatty acid composition can be obtained upon the expression of genes derived from plants of different species than the host plant, upon the expression of genes derived from bacteria, and from the transcription of anti-sense sequences which are complementary to endogenous genes of the plant host cell. The base material disclosed by the invention for spray-seeding can make a soil replacement base layer with the intensity higher than 0.25MPa; after 45 days when a turf is formed, the rainwash strength is higher than or equal to 120mm/h; within half a year to a year, an ecological plant colony with shrubs which grow with the rainwash strength higher than or equal to 200mm/h and serve as main plants is formed.
