Abstract

The disclosure relates to an image processing device and method. The device comprises a classification unit used for respectively classifying pixels of a first side document and a second side document of a double-sided document to obtain a first candidate background pixel set and a second candidate background pixel set, a determination unit used for determining a specific position of the double-sided document, a calculation unit used for calculating a first intensity threshold and a gradient threshold based on the intensity value and the gradient value of a pixel at the specific position of the first candidate background pixel set, a background obtainment unit used for classifying pixels in the first candidate background pixel set according to the first intensity threshold and the gradient threshold to obtain a uniform background pixel set as a background area of the first side document, and a foreground obtainment unit used for removing the background area in the first side document to obtain a foreground area of the first side document. Pixels at the specific position of the first side document and the second side document belong to the first candidate background pixel set and the second candidate background pixel set respectively.
