Abstract

The invention relates to a method for generating a virtual navigation mark on an electronic navigation channel chart. The method comprises: (1) providing an electronic navigation channel chart on a shipboard terminal computer; (2) determining the ship seaworthiness area in the navigation channel; (3) receiving virtual navigation mark data; 4) adjusting the ship seaworthiness area according to the received virtual navigation mark data; and (5) displaying the adjusted ship seaworthiness area and the virtual navigation mark on the electronic navigation channel chart. According to the present invention, with the method, the area suitable for the ship sailing under the current water flow condition and adjusted through the virtual navigation mark is displayed on the electronic navigation channel chart, such that whether the ship sails in the seaworthiness area can be determined so as to reduce the probability of ship accidents.
