Abstract

The invention provides a channel setting method and device. The method comprises the following steps: determining an effective channel list through a BEACON message received by a channel supported by a WIFI module, wherein the effective channel list is used for recording a corresponding relation between the effective channels and weights; selecting an effective channel from the effective channel list, setting the WIFI module by using the effective channel, and determining a monitoring time according to the weight corresponding to the effective channel; and after overtime of the monitoring time is monitored, re-executing the process of selecting effective channel from the effective channel list. According to the channel setting method and device provided by the invention, the effective channel list is determined through the BEACON message received by the channel supported by the WIFI module, the WIFI module can be ensured to receive an effective WIFI message through the effective channel in the effective channel list, and thus the efficiency of grabbing effective information is improved.
