Abstract

The invention discloses a water purifier with enhanced user convenience and a control method for the same. The water purifier comprises a filter unit filtering raw water to produce purified water, a tank storing the purified water, a water supplying pipeline arranged between the filter unit and the tank to supply purified water to the tank, a rotary plug distributing the purified water stored in the tank, a water distribution pipeline supplying the purified water in the tank to the rotary plug, a discharging flowpath distributing water from a distribution flowpath to the branch, and a check valve arranged on the discharging flowpath and opening to discharge air from the tank when pressure is lower than the water pressure of an external tap. Therefore, the water purifier can effectively prevent water splash and noise production due to air discharge of the rotary plug.
