Abstract

The invention relates to a space debris despun rod and a despun method. The despun rod comprises a rod main body, wherein one end of the rod main body is fixedly connected with a space debris capturing satellite; a plurality of grooves by which the rod main body can be folded are formed in the rod main body at intervals; the other end of the rod main body is used for being in contact with space rotating debris; the space rotating debris drives the rod main body to be folded repeatedly; despun is realized under the reaction of deformation energy of the rod main body; and finally, the space debris is captured through the space debris capturing satellite. The despun method comprises the following steps: step one, establishing a mechanical model; step two, solving the torque magnitude which corresponds to the rod main body at different angles; and step three, acquiring angular velocity change generated by deformation of the rod main body, and finally, solving reduction of speed of space rotating debris by torque generated by deformation of the rod main body. Despun is realized by the folding and absorbing energy of the despun rod, and safety of the space debris capturing satellite can be guaranteed during despinning.
