Abstract

The invention provides a method and an apparatus for marking video frames. The method comprises the steps of when a video frame is marked, acquiring at least one mark bit on the video frame, and selecting a first mark bit from the at least one mark bit, wherein the weight of the first mark bit indicates the probability of being selected of the first mark bit; when the first mark bit is lower than preset tolerance, changing the value of the first mark bit, and determining state information of a first mark block located at the first mark bit according to the changed value, wherein the first mark block is a non-digital identifier such as a pattern or a color; and forming coding information together with mark blocks located at other mark bits so as to mark the video frame. The method and apparatus provided by the invention can improve the recognition accuracy of the video frame and are favorable for the calculation of video quality assessment.
