Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for controlling the metadata access of a virtual machine. Compared with the prior art, a virtual machine physical device subjects a metadata access requestto tunnel encapsulation treatment to obtain a corresponding first data message according to the tunnel identifier information corresponding to a target virtual machine. A metadata service device subjects the first data message to tunnel decapsulation treatment after receiving the first data message from the corresponding virtual machine physical device so as to obtain the metadata access requestrelated to the target virtual machine and the tunnel identifier information corresponding to the target virtual machine. Meanwhile, the metadata service device acquires the metadata information of thetarget virtual machine according to the tunnel identifier information corresponding to the target virtual machine. According to the invention, based on the network tunnel technology, the metadata access request and a request response result are subjected to encapsulation treatment or decapsulation treatment, so that the identity recognition is achieved. Therefore, a user can safely and quickly access to the required metadata information.
