The invention relates to a deflector plate device (1) for installation in a public transport vehicle (2), comprising:a deflector plate (8) with a front side (9) for supporting a wheel chair user (29);a securing device (14) for securing the deflector plate device in the interior of a vehicle; a pivot arm (13) via which the deflector plate (8) is pivotally articulated on the securing device (14), wherein the deflector plate (8) can pivot about a horizontal pivot axis (A) in the installation position of the deflector plate device (1), such that the deflector plate can pivot with the front side (9) in the direction of travel (F, F') or with the front side (9) counter to the direction of travel (F, F').
