Embodiment Construction

[0036] The making and using of the current example embodiments are discussed in detail below. It should be appreciated, however, that the present invention provides many applicable inventive concepts that can be embodied in a wide variety of specific contexts. The specific embodiments discussed are merely illustrative of specific ways to make and use the invention, and do not limit the scope of the invention.

[0037] figure 1 An example of a wireless communication system 100 is shown, and the wireless communication system 100 includes an access point (AP for short) 105 serving one or more stations (station, STA for short), such as stations 110 , 112 , 114 and 116 . The access point 105 receives a communication originating at a station and forwards the communication to its intended destination, or receives a communication destined for a station and forwards the communication to its intended station. In addition to communicating through the AP 105, some stations may also comm...

Abstract

A wireless communication system includes an access point (AP for short) and at least one station. The AP sends periodic scheduling indicators, compression indicators and scheduling information to the station. The periodic scheduling indicator indicates whether periodic transmission is scheduled for the station, and the compression indicator indicates whether the scheduling information for the station is compressed scheduling information. The station determines complete scheduling information from the periodic scheduling indicator, the compression indicator, and the scheduling information. Then, the station sends a packet to the AP according to the complete scheduling information. Signalling overhead is thus reduced.

Description

[0001] Related Applications Cross Application [0002] This application claims prior application priority to U.S. Nonprovisional Patent Application No. 15 / 376,381, filed December 12, 2016, entitled "System and Method for Indicating Periodic Dispensing," and claims Priority claim to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 280,007, filed on the 18th, entitled "System and Method for Indicating Periodic Allocation." The content of each application is incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to digital communications and, in particular embodiments, to a system and method for indicating periodic assignments. Background technique [0004] The number of devices using a wireless local area network (WLAN) continues to grow significantly. WLAN enables users to connect to high-speed services without using a wired connection. WLAN is a wireless communication system based on IEEE802.11 series technical standards. Generally, as the num...
