Abstract

A storage container, comprising a container main body (18), a lid (16) arranged on the container main body, and an actuation apparatus. The actuation apparatus is configured to actuate the lid (16) tomove between a closed position for closing the container and a release position for opening the container. One or more main body cam surfaces (1852) are arranged on an outer surface of a side wall ofthe container main body (18), and one or more lid cam surfaces (1642) are arranged on an inner surface of a neck portion of the lid, the main body cam surfaces (1852) being configured on the inside surface of the lid in an opposing manner with respect to the corresponding lid cam surfaces (1642). The lid (16) is locked in the closed position by moving the lid along a first direction so as to cause the lid cam surfaces (1642) to abut and engage with the main body cam surfaces (1852), and the lid is moved to the release position by moving the lid along a second direction so as to cause the lidcam surfaces (1642) to release from the main body cam surfaces (1852). The mechanism for opening and closing the storage container is easy to manufacture, and simple and effortless to operate.
