Embodiment Construction

[0052] Referring to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used for like elements, in particular figure 1 , shows an embodiment of the golf shoe 10 of the present invention. Footwear 10 includes an upper portion 12 and an outsole portion 16 with a midsole 14 connecting upper 12 to outsole 16 . The views shown in the figures are of the right shoe, it being understood that components of the left shoe will be a mirror image of the right shoe. It should also be understood that the shoe can be made in a variety of sizes and thus the dimensions of the shoe components can be adjusted according to the size of the shoe.

[0053] Upper 12 has a conventional shape and is made from standard upper materials such as natural leather, synthetic leather, nonwovens, natural fabrics and synthetic fabrics. For example, breathable mesh synthetic fabrics made from nylon, polyester, polyolefin, polyurethane, rubber, and combinations thereof may be used. The materials used to construct...

Abstract

The present invention provides a golf shoe with an improved outsole construction. A golf shoe includes an upper, a midsole, and an outsole portion. The outsole includes a first set of arcuate paths extending in one direction along the outsole. A second set of arcuate paths extends in a second direction along the outsole. When the first arcuate path and the second arcuate path are superimposed on each other, four-sided tile parts are formed, and these tile parts include protruding traction members. Different traction zones including different traction members are provided on the outsole. These areas provide improved traction across the surface and are free of the channels and ditches of golf course turf. Less damage to the golf course for a given amount of traction.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application is a continuation-in-part of co-pending, commonly assigned U.S. Patent Application US29 / 662,673, filed September 7, 2018, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0003] This invention relates generally to footwear, and more particularly to golf shoes with improved outsoles. The outsole has distinct zones or regions of traction members that provide traction for activities on and off the court. The traction members are arranged on the outsole in a non-channeled pattern. Traction members and their unique pattern on the outsole help provide the shoe with high traction and low-turf ditching performance. The outsole further reduces damage to the putting zone for a given amount of traction. Background technique [0004] Specially designed golf shoes are now used by both professional and amateur golfers. Generally, golf shoes include an upper portion and an ou...
