The automatic dimming window comprises a window body frame and a dimming window body, wherein the dimming window body is mounted in the window body frame; the dimming window body comprises an outer-layer transparent plate and an inner-layer soft light plate; an air cavity is formed between the transparent plate and the soft light plate; a plurality of dimming baffle plate groups are arranged in the air cavity; the two ends of the plurality of dimming baffle plate groups are connected to the top and the bottom in the window body frame; and each of the plurality of dimming baffle plate groups comprises two dimming baffle plates and a memory spring. According to the using method disclosed by the invention, the air cavity can be heated by utilizing energy carried by light rays blocked by the dimming baffle plates according to outdoor illumination intensity, so that intensity of light rays which are irradiated into a room from the outside is automatically regulated, and therefore, the problems that indoor light rays are dazzling and indoor temperature is increased are avoided; and meanwhile, a film is matched with a vent hole, so that the purpose of leading fresh air into the room is achieved.
