2221 results about "Wine bottle" patented technology

A wine bottle is a bottle, generally made of glass, that is used for holding wine. Some wines are fermented in the bottle, others are bottled only after fermentation. Recently the bottle has become a standard unit of volume to describe sales in the wine industry, measuring 750 millilitres (26.40 imp fl oz; 25.36 US fl oz). Wine bottles are produced, however, in a variety of volumes and shapes.

Disclosed is a wine rack, large versions of which are adapted to be installed against a wall of a room or as a free standing wall separated from the walls of a room, which is a monolithic flat rigid sheet to which has uniformly mounted in rows through holes therein a like number of wine bottle support rods which project perpendicularly and parallel to each other from one or both faces of the sheet so that two wine bottles of varying sidewall diameter can be stored on three of the rods without their side-walls touching and whose essential elements can be fabricated offsite by forming uniform rows of holes in a monolithic sheet of stainless steel; fitting in the holes machine bolts whose threaded shank ends project beyond a face of the steel sheet; bonding the heads of the bolts to the opposite face of the steel sheet so that their threaded ends project axially perpendicularly, rigidly and parallel to each other; and forming a female threaded cavity in one end of a plurality of wine bottle support rods. The thus-fabricated structural parts of the wine rack are then transported to the installation site, where the rods are coupled to the projecting ends of the bolts. A plurality of the thus-fabricated wine rack are mounted side-by-side vertically on a wall of a room at the installation site or one of them can be installed as free standing version which is stabilizing from bending or swaying at its base. A free standing version with wine bottle support rods projecting from both faces thereof can similarly be produced using short lengths of threaded steel rods which, when inserted in the holes in the steel sheet, its ends project a short distance beyond each face of the steel sheet so that the internally female threaded ends wine bottle support rods can be mounted on both ends thereof.

Combined wine glass and wine bottle package

A combined wine glass and wine bottle package includes a wine glass constructed from molded plastic with an upper body defining an upwardly narrowed flume for concentrating the wine bouquet, in combination with a contoured lower base defining an annular moat surrounding a central punt. A wine bottle is sized to fit substantially, in an inverted orientation relative to the glass, into the wine glass, with a removable bottle cap nested within the central punt, and with an upper rim of the wine bottle snap-fitted into a shallow groove formed in the wine bottle near a lower end thereof. This entire package is sterile-wrapped in a sealed shrink-wrap plastic or the like. The package can be opened when desired to permit removal of the wine bottle from the wine glass, following by bottle opening and pouring of the contents into the wine glass.

Combination lock container

A combination lock container (10), suitable for accepting a wine bottle, consisting of an upper housing (12), a lower housing (50), a plurality of tumblers (18A-18E), and externally applied indicia (24). Cylindrical walls, or skirt portions, of each housing nest and engage into one another. Each housing has a key-like feature, consisting of a linear array of tabs with gap spacing between, that projects radially from the outer cylindrical wall surface. The upper housing has a longitudinal slot opening in the cylindrical wall, adjacent to its set of tabs, which can accept the tabs of the lower housing. When the housings are fully assembled, matching tab and gap features on each housing are adjacent and in lateral alignment with respect to each other. A plurality of tumblers, each with an internal annularly formed locking rib, are placed concentrically around the housings. The locking rib wall has a section removed that creates a keyway opening, the width of which is slightly greater than that of the aligned tabs. Located on the tumbler's outer circumference, and directly above the keyway, is a score mark or keyway indicator. Applying a personalized code word to the locking mechanism requires no disassembly. By using the keyway indicator features, indicia may be applied externally such that designated letters of a code word can be applied and aligned directly over the tumbler keyway. Once applied, the indicia conceal the location of the score marks. Locking ribs rotate through and intersect the laterally aligned gaps between the housing tabs, thus axially locking the housings together. When the proper code word is positioned underneath a marker, all keyways fall into alignment with the housing tabs. In this unlocked condition, the housings may be separated and the bottle of wine removed. A slot opening in the upper housing additionally allows the container to be used as a coin bank.
