The method comprises the following steps: transmitting an ultrasonic signal through an engine oil sensor, and receiving an echo signal of the ultrasonic signal through the engine oil sensor; calculating the echo energy intensity of the echo signal; correcting the echo energy intensity according to the current oil level and the current oil temperature of the engine oil and a preset echo energy attenuation correction parameter table, and obtaining the corrected echo energy intensity; and acquiring the current quality grade of the engine oil according to the corrected echo energy intensity and a preset engine oil quality grade comparison table, wherein a plurality of quality grades of the engine oil and the echo energy intensity corresponding to each quality grade are pre-stored in the engine oil quality grade comparison table.
