Abstract

The fingerprint verification device includes first and second light emitting devices (13, 14), an imaging unit (8), a fingerprint verification circuit (7) and a drive switch (6). The first light emitting device (13) emits first light of a first color, and the second light emitting device (14) emits second light of a second color. The imaging unit (8) detects the fingerprint image of the finger from the first light reflected from the finger. The fingerprint verification circuit (7) has registered fingerprint images, and compares the measured fingerprint image with each of the registered fingerprint images to determine whether the measured fingerprint image is consistent with any registered fingerprint images. When the measured fingerprint image matches any registered fingerprint image, it outputs a matching signal.
