Abstract

An electro-thermal apparatus configured to treat tissue includes an electrosurgical cable configured to couple to an electrosurgical energy source. The electrosurgical cable includes supply and return lines that are wound in a double helix arrangement around a dielectric insulator within the electrosurgical cable. An electro-thermal element is provided at a distal end of the electrosurgical cable. The electro-thermal element is in electrical communication with the supply and return lines via corresponding first and second conductive traces. The first and second conductive traces have a patterned geometry and resistivity configured to convert electrical energy provided by the supply and return lines to thermal energy for treating tissue.
