The invention discloses a pilot frequency sequence generating method that comprises: generating at least one pseudo-random sequence whose length is positive integer times of P and at least 2, said PN sequence is distributed to at least one area, thereinto P is frequency-domain pilot frequency sub carrier number; the PN sequence which is distributed to every area is modulated to obtain the pilot frequency sequence set, said pilot frequency sequence set at least includes a pilot frequency sequence, and length of at least one sequence is P. the invention also disclose a pilot frequency sequence generating device, emitter, receiver, area original searching method and multiple carriers communication system. With this invention, the area original searching in multiple carrier communication system can be realized easily, and accurate area identifying probability can be guaranteed, and more codes in area are provided, and without additional spending.
