Embodiment Construction

[0083] Figure 3 illustrates the concept of interleaving. It represents a data sequence X(k) at the input of an interleaver using an interleaving law I(k). The output data sequence Y(k) is related to the input sequence by the following equation:

[0084] Y(k)=X(I(k)), where k={0,...,K-1}, and I(k)={0,...,K-1}

[0085] Fig. 4 shows a flowchart of a specific embodiment of the interleaving method of the present invention.

[0086] The interleaving method 1 utilizing N iterations of the present invention performs constrained interleaving on input digital data blocks of size K indexed by variables k={0,...,K-1}, maintaining the size p The mode or its size is p The mode of the factor.

[0087] In the first step 2, method 1 calculates the intermediate value I 0 (j) (k), which utilizes two inputs a and b The first modulo K algebraic function f of 0 The result of (a,b).

[0088] In a preferred embodiment, the first algebraic function is such that f 0 (a,b)=[-a-bp] K ,in p i...

Abstract

The invention concerns a method and a device (4) for block interleaving of size K with N iterations of index j, N being not less than 1, of input digital data indexed by a variable k = {0,...., K - 1}. The interleaving method uses a turbo structure having two inputs and one output. At the end of each iteration j, the interleaving law I(J)(k) in the interleaver output (4) is modified in accordance with an input sequence formed by the position indices of the data prior to interleaving (typically a ramp) and in accordance with an interleaved sequence (which provides the position of the data after interleaving) resulting from the previous iteration of the same interleaving algorithm. The invention enables the overall position of p multiplexed data streams to be maintained.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of telecommunications. In this field, the invention relates more particularly to digital communication, including both wired communication and wireless communication, in which the transmission channel is a wireless channel. [0002] The present invention pertains to interleaving techniques, generally used to reduce correlations due to selective filtering of data inherent to a transport channel or to reduce correlations due to formatting data. [0003] The invention has particular application to any type of wired or wireless transmission system in which the data to be transmitted is discrete and is subject to disturbances which cause correlations between received data items which have the effect of deteriorating the decision-making circuitry of the receiver influences. Background technique [0004] With a multipath transmission medium, the reciprocal of the allocated transmission bandwidth B is equal to the r...
