Problems solved by technology

Furthermore, due to this separation flow, there are problems in that noise is generated and the wind speed distribution of the air flow at the fan outlet is biased toward the main board.
Moreover, since the blades of the turbofan described in Patent Document 1 have a special shape, it cannot be applied to a centrifugal fan of a general air conditioner.

Embodiment Construction

[0034] Next, a centrifugal fan according to an embodiment of the present invention and an air conditioner equipped with the centrifugal fan will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0035] The air conditioner of this embodiment is an indoor unit of a wall-mounted air conditioner, and has a horizontally elongated box shape as shown in the perspective view of FIG. 1 . As shown in the top sectional view of FIG. 2 , this indoor unit is formed to have a small dimension in the thickness direction (vertical direction in FIG. 2 ). A turbofan 2 serving as an indoor fan and a heat exchanger 4 for cooling or heating indoor air are housed in the main body casing 1 .

[0036] The main body case 1 has a front plate 11 on the front surface of the main body case 1 as shown in the perspective view of FIG. 1 . The front panel 11 has an air intake port 12 at the center for sucking in indoor air, and has air blower ports 13 at both sides for blowing out the air heat-exchanged in the he...

Abstract

Provided are a centrifugal fan where airflow speed distribution at a fan blowout opening, in the direction of the height of a blade, is uniformized to reduce operation noise, and an air conditioner in which the centrifugal fan is used to reduce operation noise. The centrifugal fan has a hub for fixing the rotating shaft of a motor, a main plate formed at the outer circumference of the hub, a shroud placed facing the main plate to form an airflow path, blades placed between the main plate and the shroud, and a bell mouth placed on the suction side of the shroud. Ridges or recesses are formed in that surface of the shroud which faces the bell mouth, and the ridges or recesses form, in fan operation, an airflow along the surface from the center of the shroud toward its outer circumference. The air conditioner has the centrifugal fan constructed as above.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a centrifugal fan and an air conditioner using the centrifugal fan, and more particularly to noise reduction of the centrifugal fan and the air conditioner using the centrifugal fan. Background technique [0002] Generally, centrifugal fans are highly efficient and low-noise, and thus are often used in air conditioners. In addition, recently, ceiling-mounted air conditioners are often used in the commercial field, and wall-mounted air conditioners are often used in the home field. In any of these air conditioners, in order to achieve downsizing, a heat exchanger is often arranged on the blowing side of the centrifugal fan. [0003] In such a structure in which a heat exchanger is arranged on the blowing side of the centrifugal fan, in order to make the wind speed distribution of the heat exchanger uniform, the axial length of the impeller, that is, the blade height must be increased in many cases according to the size ...
