Abstract

A message retransmission method for improving multicast efficiency in cellular system is provided in the present invention. First, each of the devices performs channel measurement with one another so that the spectrum utilization between every two devices can be determined. Then a base station transmits multicast data to determine the devices which have received the multicast data successfully and the devices which have not received the multicast data. Then according to the spectrum utilization, the amount of the devices which have received the multicast data successfully, the amount of the devices which have not received the multicast data, and the preset retransmission source selection principle, the base station groups the devices and calculates resource overhead, and selects the device which has the least resource overhead to be the retransmission source of the multicast data, meanwhile records the corresponding grouping mode, and the base station transmits the information of the device determined to be the retransmission source and the grouping information to every device in the serving area of the base station. The device selected to be the retransmission source can be enabled to retransmit the received multicast data by orthogonal resource. Thereby the multicast efficiency is improved.
