The method comprises the following steps of: receiving image information input by a user and description information of the image information; searching for a preset image character library according to the description information to obtain a character image which corresponds to the description information; and determining whether the description information is consistent to the image information according to a matching result of the image information and the character image. According to the method, the problem that consistence of the character information to the image information cannot be identified automatically by using a computer is solved, and all identification is performed by using the server and an identification result is output since a large quantity of labor resources are not required to be set for checking the consistence of the image information to the description information of the image, so that the identifying efficiency can be increased remarkably when a large quantity of unloaded images are required to be identified, the user is informed of an identifying result in time, and the issuing speed of the image information is increased.
