Embodiment Construction

[0063] Disclosed is a package in the form of a container comprising a first compartment containing a first substance, and a substance insert disposed at least partially within the container having the first substance. The substance insert includes a second compartment containing a second substance, at least a portion of which compartment is made of a flexible barrier wall. The package may be aseptically manipulated externally to mix the first substance and the second substance prior to dispensing by disrupting the integrity of the membrane wall. This arrangement allows the container to be semi-rigid, thus providing good ergonomics for the package. The membrane wall provides a good barrier between the first substance and the second substance, supporting a long shelf life and product stability.
