The invention discloses an air conditioner as well as an outdoor unit and a temperature controller thereof and a control method of the air conditioner. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner comprises a compressor, a four-way valve and an outdoor unit main board, wherein the outdoor unit main board comprises a communication port, a compressor control port, a four-way valve control port, and a power source output port connected with the temperature controller, wherein the communication port connected with the temperature controller is used for receiving a communication signal command sent by the temperature controller; the compressor control port connected with the temperature controller is used for receiving a first switching value signal command output by the temperature controller; and the four-way valve control port connected with the temperature controller is used for receiving a second switching value signal command output by the temperature controller. The invention provides a general outdoor unit, the outdoor unit main board obtains unit operation parameters through data communication with the indoor temperature controller and controls the system of the complete machine to operate, so that the generality of the outdoor unit is achieved so as to be matched indoor units with different structural styles or even of different manufacturers.
