The method comprises steps: improvement and enhancement are carried out on a Keep-alive order frame periodically sent by the WIA-PA field device, and the handheld device realizes point-to-point communication with a to-be-connected field device through monitoring and using the Keep-alive frame; a use range of a super frame updating request and super frame updating response network layer order frame used by a router and a gateway limited in a WIA-PA standard is expanded to the field device for activation request and response to handheld connection backup super frame; and by using expansibility of a WIA-PA standard DLSL order frame, a DLSL order frame for a handheld device connection request of the handheld device and a handheld device connection response of the to-be-connected device is designed, and building of a direct communication relationship between the handheld device and the to-be-connected device is realized.
