Abstract

The invention provides an upgrading method. The method comprises a third device divides a cluster into at least two sub-clusters, wherein the at least two sub-clusters comprise an upgrading sub-cluster and a service sub-cluster, the upgrading sub-cluster comprises at least one first device, and the service sub-cluster comprises at least one second device; the third device instructs the upgrading sub-cluster to switch a first service operated by the upgrading sub-cluster to the service sub-cluster; the service sub-cluster operates the first service; the third device instructs at least one first device of the upgrading sub-cluster to upgrade; and the upgraded upgrading sub-cluster requests the service sub-cluster to switch the first service to the upgraded upgrading sub-cluster. The embodiment of the invention also discloses a device and a cluster system. Through adoption of the invention, a condition that a device of a new version and a device of an old version are concurrent in one sub-cluster can be avoided; message transmission among the devices of different sub-clusters can be reduced through intercommunication among the sub-clusters; and the upgrading efficiency is improved.
