Abstract

The method comprises the following steps of extracting a first grayscale value of each pixel of an original image; judging whether the first grayscale value of each pixel is less than a first average grayscale value or not, wherein the first average grayscale value is an average grayscale value of all pixels of the original image; if the first grayscale value is less than the first average grayscale value, performing first function transformation on the first grayscale value to obtain a second grayscale value, wherein the first function is an increasing function in a predetermined numerical value range and a convex function with a smooth curve; and displaying the image according to the second grayscale value. The grayscale expansion of a low-grayscale region of the original image is realized by utilizing a characteristic that the slope of the first function in the predetermined numerical value range is greater than 1, so that the contrast ratio of the low-grayscale region is increased and details are more remarkable.
