Abstract

The invention provides a self-adaptive intersection traffic flow random fluctuation traffic signal control system and method. The system comprises a traffic flow detector, a data transmission sub-system, a data processing and control module, a lane signal lamp and a number of LED induction screens. The traffic flow detector acquires the arrival information of left turn and straight traffic flow of each entrance lane of an intersection in real time. The traffic flow detector transmits acquired traffic flow data to the data processing and control module through the data transmission sub-system. The data processing and control module carries out numerical calculation and logical judgment on the received traffic flow data. When left turn or straight saturated traffic flow of an entrance lane disappears, the data processing and control module immediately issues a control command through the data transmission sub-system to change the signal lamp color of the lane to end left turn or straight traffic flow release of the entrance. An LED induction screen is used to issue prompt information to guide waiting vehicles of other entrances to enter a stay area.
