The auxiliary rod loading device comprises aguide rail assembly, a mounting frame, driven wheels, a rotating mechanism, a friction wheel, a carrier wheel mechanism, a propulsion oil cylinder, a rotating oil cylinder and a driving motor, whereina directional drilling rod is placed on the driven wheels; the directional drilling rod is leveled through the carrier wheel mechanism; and the rotating oil cylinder pushes the friction wheel to press the directional drilling rod, and the driving motor drives the friction wheel to rotate, so as to apply a certain rotating torque to the directional drilling rod to achieve initial pre-tightening ofthe directional drilling rod. In a rod loading process, the propulsion oil cylinder is in a floating state, so as to protect a screw thread of the directional drilling rod; and after the rod loadingis completed, the propulsion oil cylinder returns back for the next pre-tightening. The auxiliary rod loading device is simple in structure, small in size, low in cost and favorable for maintenance and wear-out part replacement; the efficiency of pre-tightening the directional drilling rod is improved; the labor intensity of a worker is substantially reduced; and the safety problem of the worker in a large-diameter directional drilling rod pre-tightening process is avoided.
