The method comprises: through a rumor determination module, calculating to obtain probabilities of being able todetermine a rumor and of being unable to determine a rumor; after continuously inputting a certain message matrix into a GRU unit, if the correspondingly calculated probability of being able to determine a rumor is greater than a preset threshold, stopping continuously inputting the next message matrix to the GRU unit; and sending the last updated GRU unit status to the determination module for processing. The technical scheme of the present invention aims to solve the problem of the time at which an automated decision is made to perform event rumor determination, namely the time point at which accurate determination can be performed as early as possible.
