Abstract

The rear center air bag restraint system is composed of two airbag units which are symmetrically arranged,wherein the two airbag units are installed at the middle position of a rear seat; the two airbag units comprise two air chambers, and inflation is carried out when a side collision occurs to a vehicle; inflation is carried out by an air inlet of the first air chamber; the air flow is arranged in a second air chamber along one-way valves in airbag covers in a filling mode; and after the airbag covers are completely unfolded, the unfolding direction of the airbag covers and the heading direction of the vehicle form an included angle of 0-15 degrees, and the two airbag units can be mutually squeezed and supported. The bottom end of the second air chamber is positioned above a cup holder of the rear seat after unfolding. In the collision process, a pressure sensor in the second air chamber detects the air pressure condition in air bags, and when the air pressure condition exceeds a threshold value, the air is released through the side one-way valves of the air bag restraint system units toplay a buffering role and protect passengers.
