Abstract

The OTA upgrading method comprises the steps that firstly, an OTA server obtains the type and the current version number of a terminal according to an upgrading request of the terminal; then, the OTA server determines the version number of the upgradable highest version of the terminal of the type in the OTA server; a full-amount upgradepackage and all differential upgrade packages are determined from the current version number of the terminal to the version number of the highest version, and description information of the full-amount upgrade package and all differential upgrade packages are sent to the terminal, so that the terminal judges the used upgrade package according to the description information and the size of the spare space of the terminal; and finally, the terminal downloads a corresponding upgrade package from the OTA server according to the judgment result and the description information. The problem that theterminal cannot be upgraded in a part of scenes can be effectively avoided, and meanwhile, the waste of air interface resources can be effectively avoided.
