The system comprises a controller, a plurality of master-slave modules connected in series, a current sensor connected with the controller, a plurality of battery management modules connected in series, a plurality of external connectors and a plurality of internal connectors, wherein the current sensor is used forcollecting a current of the master-slave modules; the adjacent master-slave modules are connected through the external connector, and a master module and a slave module in each master-slave module are connected through the internal connector; for each battery management module, the battery management module is used for managing corresponding master-slave modules and external connectors connectedwith the master-slave modules; and the controller is used for judging whether the plurality of external connectors have faults or not based on the sampling data and the currents of the plurality of external connectors when the currents are not zero, and judging whether the plurality of internal connectors have faults or not based on the sampling data and the currents of the plurality of battery cells in the plurality of master-slave modules.
