The method comprises the steps that environmental parameter information is collected, wherein the environmental parameter information comprises at least one of the concentration of formaldehyde in air, the concentration of fine particles, the temperature, the humidity and the smoke concentration; determining whether the electronic cigarette is in an applicable environment or not according to the environment parameter information; if the user is not in the applicable environment of the electronic cigarette, turning off the cigarette lighting function of the electronic cigarette; when the electronic cigarette with the cigarette lighting function closed detects a cigarette lighting signal, stopping the atomization work according to the cigarette lighting signal. The problem that an electronic cigarette user uses an electronic cigarette for smoking to causediscomfort of other surrounding users under the condition of poor air quality in the prior art is solved.
