Problems solved by technology

However, we found that the gel formed in such a way that it was difficult to incorporate dyes or pigments into it
Many dyes do not diffuse in gel systems and do not form products with uniform color throughout, resulting in products that are not attractive in appearance

Embodiment 1

[0050] To a vessel containing 63.975 g of fragrance base (Lavandair 150.120D; from Firmenich SA, Geneva, Switzerland) was added 0.025 g of dye (Iragon Violet SVI13; from Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Switzerland) with stirring. Then 17.0 g Lithene N4-B-10MA was added by hand and allowed to mix. In another container, 16.0 g of fragrance base (Lavandair 150.120D) was mixed with 3.0 g of Jeffamine D-400 and then added to the previous container with stirring. After 5 minutes at room temperature, a bluish-purple gel containing fragrance groups was obtained. The gel sets in about 20 minutes.

Embodiment 2

[0052] To a container containing 63.91 g of fragrance base (Solar Splash 150.555; Firmenich SA from Geneva, Switzerland) was added 0.09 g of dye (Sanoplast Yellow 3G; Clariant UK Ltd. from UK) under stirring. Then 17.0 g Lithene N4-B-10MA was added by hand and allowed to mix. In another container, 16.0 g of fragrance base (Solar Splash 150.555) was mixed with 1.12 g of Jeffamine EDR-148 and 1.88 g of diethyl phthalate and added to the previous container with stirring. After 5 minutes at room temperature, a yellow gel containing fragrance groups was obtained. The gel sets in about 20 minutes.

Embodiment 3

[0054] To a vessel containing 63.97 g of fragrance base (Summer Fruits 150.535; Firmenich SA from Geneva, Switzerland) was added 0.03 g of dye (Fat Red 5B02; Clariant UK Ltd. from UK) under stirring. Then 17.0 g Lithene N4-B-10MA was added by hand and allowed to mix. In a separate container, mix 16.0 g of Fragrant Base (Summer Fruits 150.535) with 2.40 g of Jeffamine D-400, 0.22 g of Jeffamine EDR-148, and 0.38 g of Diethyl Phthalate and add it under stirring a container. After 5 minutes at room temperature, a dark red gel containing fragrance groups was obtained. The gel sets in about 20 minutes.

Abstract

A colored anhydrous gel element for perfuming or deodorizing air or enclosed spaces is provided. The element is formed by cross-linking a functionalized liquid polymer selected from maleinized polybutadiene, maleinized polyisoprene or a copolymer of ethylene and maleic anhydride with a cross-linking agent which contains at least one complementary functional group in the presence of a non-aqueous perfume or deodorizing base and a least one metal-free solvent dye which is soluble in the non-aqueous perfume or deodorizing base, or which is provided as a solution in a non-aqueous solvent which is compatible with the non-aqueous perfume or deodorizing base. The gel elements may be incorporated into devices which are used as air fresheners or deodorizers.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to air care products, and more particularly, the present invention relates to products that impart fragrance or deodorizing ingredients into the surrounding air. Background technique [0002] In recent years, various devices for dispensing volatile substances such as fragrances, deodorant compositions and insect repellents into the air have become more and more common. For example, virtually all homes today use air fresheners or deodorizers to mask unpleasant odors or to perfume the indoor air. Various known devices function by emitting volatile substances into the surroundings. A spraying device such as a nebuliser can spray the liquid composition into the air of a room. Other devices include a housing containing a liquid active ingredient. Typically, the active ingredient is diffused outwardly through a membrane or gauze that allows the gas of the active ingredient to pass through, and the gauze is located in the cont...
