A method, system, and computer program product for monitoring service tickets for information technology (IT) service providers to ensure that levels of service regarding resolving problems identified by a customer are met is provided. In one embodiment, a monitoring server inspects a service ticket in a database to determine a deadline for when a problem associated with the service ticket must be resolved. The server then determines a deadline approaching alert time. This deadline approaching alert time is a time at which a help desk user must be notified that the deadline for resolving the problem must be met is approaching. The server then alerts the help desk user that the deadline for resolving the problem is approaching when the deadline approaching alert time is reached. If the problem is not resolved by the deadline, the server periodically alerts the help desk user when times for status updates, which have been specified by a level of service agreement for updating the customer of the status of resolution of problems that have past deadline, are approaching, thereby ensuring that the IT provider meets its obligations to the customer.

According to another embodiment of the invention enforcement of the per subscriber, per application traffic policy comprises classifying the network traffic into application level subscriber flows, maintaining real-time statistics on the application level subscriber flows and overall network element congestion, updating, in real-time, the per subscriber, per application traffic policy based on the real-time statistics and restricting bandwidth and dropping packets on the application level subscriber flows as necessary to enforce the per subscriber, per application traffic policy. Another embodiment of the invention is a passthrough mode where the data traffic is transmitted by the traffic in the same manner as received by the traffic shaping service node. Yet another embodiment of the invention is a combined service node with integral edge routing and traffic aggregator.

There is provided, in a computer processing system, an apparatus for managing object data. The apparatus includes a changed objects manager for creating and managing a changed objects list that at least identifies the objects that have changed based on time of change. The changed objects list is associated with a plurality of time buckets. Each of the plurality of time buckets is associated with a respective date and time period and with object change records for objects having a timestamp falling within the respective date and time period. Each of the object change records is associated with a unique object identifier and the timestamp for a corresponding one of the objects. The timestamp specifies a date and a time corresponding to a latest one of a creation time or a most recent update time for the corresponding one of the objects.

A method for correlating event information comprises receiving a query associated with an attribute value of a detected event. The method continues by identifying a rule for determining the attribute value, the rule associated with a rule identifier. The method continues by identifying in a first table a rule update time associated with the rule. The method continues by determining attribute values for a plurality of detected events stored in a second table, wherein the plurality of detected events occurred after the rule update time and are associated with event identifiers. The method continues by storing in a third table the determined attribute values and the event identifiers. The method concludes by identifying in the third table one or more event identifiers associated with one or more attribute values that satisfy the query.
