Said method includes according to service protocol type setting-up protocol indication signal; distributing service channel for SDH and SONET service and to make encoding to said distributed service channel; according to service encoding and protocol indication signal, dividing SDH and SONET service, then respectively entering each service process unit to make process; after completing process, according to service encoding and protocol indication signal reassembly. Said device includes control unit, counter, memory unit, and SDH service process unit and SONET service process unit. The present invention can enlarge single set equipment service process performance and reduce cost.
