Embodiment Construction

[0031] In order to make the objectives, technical solutions, and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0032] Fig. 5 is a flowchart of label allocation by upstream nodes in a point-to-multipoint tunnel established by RSVP-TE in a preferred embodiment of the method of the present invention. As shown in Figure 5, the method includes the following steps:

[0033] Step 501: The upstream node A sends a PATH (path) message to the downstream node B. The PATH message carries the label information allocated by the upstream node A to the downstream node B; at the same time, the upstream node A records the upstream node carried in the PATH message. Label information assigned by A to downstream node B;

[0034] Step 502: The downstream node B judges whether to accept the label allocated by the upstream node A, for example, judges whether the label allocated by the upstream nod...

Abstract

The invention relates to the communications field, which discloses a method for upstream label distribution used in peer-to-multipeer tunnel to ensure that the label remains the same when a plurality of upstream nodes distribute an identical label to the same downstream node. The method introduces a negotiation mechanism between upstream nodes and downstream nodes; after distributing a label to a downstream node, if an upstream node receives feedback label information from the downstream node, the upstream node then redistributes a label to the downstream node based on the feedback information from the downstream nodes. At the same time, the invention also discloses an upstream label distribution system applied in peer-to-multipeer tunnel.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to a method and system for assigning labels to upstream nodes for point-to-multipoint tunnels. Background technique [0002] Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is an efficient forwarding technology applied to IP backbone networks. The Label Switched Path (LSP) established by MPLS technology can support point-to-point (Pointto Point, P2P) and point to multi-point (Point to Multi-point, P2MP) and other tunnels. Currently, the signaling protocols used by MPLS to establish LSPs mainly include resource reservation protocol-traffic engineering (Resource Reservation Protocol-Traffic Engineering, RSVP-TE) and label distribution protocol (Label Distribution Protocol, LDP). Unlike traditional IP forwarding technology, MPLS decides forwarding based on labels. Currently, LSP tunnels mainly use downstream label distribution, that is, downstream nodes assign labels to upstream no...
