[0027] In FIG. 1 , a reservoir 1 contains a volatile liquid 2 . The reservoir has a neck 3 inside which is fitted an insert 4 for blocking the neck and preventing unwanted leakage of liquid. A cylindrical sleeve 5 of circular cross-section forms part of this insert, said sleeve being coaxial with the neck and extending from it downwards into the liquid. A core rope 6 is slidably mounted inside the sleeve, said core rope being able to convey the liquid from the reservoir to the atmosphere. The wick described here is of the surface capillary type, as described in US Patent 4,913,350, but can easily be replaced with a conventional porous wick commonly used in commercial air fresheners.
