The invention discloses a mahjong and a manufacturing method of the mahjong. A front face of the mahjong has a name and a back face has patterns which project outwards. The back face is covered by a surface layer which covers areas projecting around patterns. The invention directly adopts the colorful surface layer around the patterns to displace the original transparent layer covering patterns on the back face of the mahjong body so as to realize the aim of protecting the patterns and avoiding crack of the transparent layer. The mahjong adopts different colors for the shaping of a main body layer, a pattern layer and the surface layer so as to lead the mahjong to be more colorful and the mahjong form to be more elegant.
