Abstract

The invention discloses a method for realizing automatic network topology discovery and resource information management in a provider backbone bridging traffic engineering (PBB TE) network. The method comprises the steps as follows: a first network node constructs and sends a link layer discovery protocol (LLDP) message which comprises network topology information and resource information; and a second network node receives the LLDP message, records the network topology information in the LLDP message to a local network topology information database and records the resource information in the LLDP message to a local resource information database. The invention also discloses a method for sending and collecting the network topology information and the resource information in the PBB TE network and a device realizing the automatic network topology discovery and the resource information management in a PBB TE network node. The proposal of the invention can realize the automatic network topology discovery and the resource information management in the PBB TE network.
