The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring a mobility limit reason of a terminal by a base station according to a switching request sent by the terminal; sending a response message containing the mobility limit reason to the terminal; and stopping the switching request by the terminal according to the mobility limit reason. The invention also provides a corresponding device and system. The method, the device and the system for informing the terminal mobility limit refusal in the WiMAX system, which are proposed by the invention, inform the terminal of a refusal reason by adding fields in the response message sent to the terminal and writing the mobility limit reason, stop the subsequent operation of the terminal and save broadband resources.
