Abstract

A method for supporting MBMS data transmission in an LTE system comprises the following steps: when an MBMS conversation is established, a BM-SC sends an 'MBMS Conversation Establishment Request' to an ECN (ECN (M)) providing an MBMS service; the ECN providing the MBMS service sends an 'MBMS Conversation Establishment Response' to the BM-SC, and sends an 'MBMS Conversation Establishment Request' to the ECN registered by UE; the ECN registered by UE sends an 'MBMS Conversation Establishment Response' to the ECN providing the MBMS service; the ECN registered by UE sends an 'MBMS Conversation Establishment Request' to an ERAN; the ERAN sends an 'MBMS Conversation Establishment Response' to the ECN registered by UE; and the ERAN establishes an essential wireless resource for transmitting MBMS data. The invention provides a new method for providing wireless source management device with MBMS UE context, simplifies a signaling flow and improves the efficiency.
