The embodiment of the invention, which relates to communication technology field, discloses methods for transmission configuration and transmission of periodic channel state information (CSI) as well as apparatuses, so that periodic CSI reporting precision and a receiving performance of the system are improved. The transmission configuration method comprises the following steps that: periodic CSI transmission configuration information is sent to user equipment; a trigger message is sent to the user equipment; and periodic CSI reported by the user equipment according to the periodic CSI transmission configuration information is received. Besides, the periodic CSI is formed by periodic CSIs of at least two downlink component carriers. The embodiment of the invention is mainly applied to an LTE-A system.
